Lonely Planet Review
With 12 rooms, this is one of the largest guesthouses in the city. It has dorms and private rooms with attached bathrooms, a common area, kitchen where you can cook your own meals and a restaurant on the ground floor. Bathrooms are clean and have hot water boilers - crucial in summer when city-wide hot water shut-downs are common.
The name LG has nothing to do with the electronics company; it's short for Londa Ganzaga, a Buddhist deity. Rooms are some of the best a backpacker could hope for; they are clean, large and have mod-cons, including cable TV, hot water boilers, bedside light, fridge and a table. Many rooms are brightly lit, especially those that face south towards the mountain. The 10-bed dorm lacks these luxuries, but the four-bed dorm is like a private studio, with a couch and attached bathroom. Free breakfast is available and Internet access is affordable. The only drawback is the location, set on the dusty avenue leading to the train station. It's a 15-minute walk from the main shopping and dining areas.

Author Tip
Seeing Ulaanbaatar by bike is a great way to get to know the city. Hire one from Seven Summits opposite the Central Post Office and ride around the parks, temples and monasteries of the city. Another nice ride is along the Tuul River west of the Zaisan Memorial.
