How To Get There

The closest airport is Babatpur airport also known as the Varanasi airport. Its 24 kms from the hotel. There are only taxis available to come to the city. Theres also a prepaid taxi stand for tourists, set up by the govt. so the regular taxis won't fleece them. The Golden Buddha has an airport pickup service for a nominal fixed charge. The other best and cheaper mode to come to Sarnath/Varanasi is the main railway stn called Varanasi Cantt. Trains from major cities throughout India come here. The distance is appx 8 kms from the hotel. Taxis are available as well as cheaper and faster means are autorickshaw. Very cheap, local buses are available too, but will take a long time as they stop, drop and pickup anyone from anywhere. The hotel can pick up guests from here too. There is an intercity bus terminal near the train stn. but its not common to use buses as a mode of transport. Its just uncomfortable.
