Quotes The entrance to this hotel on a quiet courtyard is charming. Glimpse the canal through a now-disused water gate, go up a flight of stone stairs with paintings adorning the walls, and enter a cosy breakfast room/reception area. The rooms are equally appealing.

The stairs are fairly steep (although thankfully there is only one flight), so you may want to sit down once you reach reception. As you perch your behind on a plumped red upholstered chair, you'll notice Venetian masks hanging off an antique-style mirror, a display cabinet filled with Murano glass objects, tablecloths in primary colours, and warm red walls. When you take breakfast here, it will consist of edible but slightly unappetising packet croissants, coffee and a good selection of teas. This hotel has seven rooms spread over two floors. The decor is colourful and tasteful with wooden furniture, striped wallpaper with matching bedspreads, and bare-feet-friendly carpeted floors. Views are either of the side canal or the courtyard. The best room is No 2 - it is spacious and overlooks the canal.

How To Get There

FROM AIRPORT,Marco Polo (Venice):Take pubblic vaporetto 'ALILAGUNA' (10?)to S.ZACCARIA ON GRAND CANAL.Then take a vaporetto line 1 headed for Piazzale Roma and get off at S.Angelo stop. From Train Station:Take vaporetto line 1 headed for Lido and get off S.Angelo. From S.Angelo stop walk straight ahead into the Corte de l'alboro square,just to the left of the large Building in front of you is a small path leading to a canal.Turn right along the Canal Railing for 50 m. to steps leading up to a bridge. Go down two steps to the right into the Corte Lucatello(marked on the wall in front of you before you turn). Antico Fiore is the first door(3486) on the left,where a warm welcome awaits you.
