Part of the mini Vansana chain that includes a hotel at the Plain of Jars and another pad at Nam Ngum Reservoir, this is a deservedly popular 'resort' hotel on the outskirts of town. All the rooms are set around a swimming pool, making it a good choice for families.

In keeping with its almost rural setting, the gardens are lush and welcoming, and the hotel is very peaceful at any time of day or night. The rooms are nicely kitted out for the price and include satellite TV, a fridge and hot water showers. Most are finished in a homely wood trim. The rooms are generous in size, but opt for one of the suites if you want some serious space to spread out. Most rooms look onto the small central swimming pool which is a fine place to cool off in the heat of the day. Prices include breakfast and there is a small restaurant here if you don't feel like heading into town. If you do, the hotel car is available for shuttle runs into the centre.
