Address: Cnr albert and elizabeth st , Brisbane 4000, Australia Show on map
Another of Brisbane's old Art Deco buildings that has been turned into a business hotel. In contrast to some, however, these rooms and apartments are huge, among the biggest in Brisbane. The building is nearly a century old, with reception hidden inside a magnificent 1930s arcade of shops. The Royal Albert is right in the bustling heart of the city, but the rooms and apartments are elegantly hushed inside, with high ceilings, smart floral fabrics and soft pale green carpets that you sink into as you walk. The apartment kitchens are completely separate, with smart, gleaming appliances including a huge fridge/freezer unit. There's a big television, complete with dozens of cable channels, in both the bedroom and sitting room. The 'studio' rooms are vast, with acres of floor space and elegant cream and pale green furnishings. They also have a kitchen counter, and some have a third sofa bed - handy for families. There's no bar or restaurant here, but a continental breakfast basket can be delivered if required.
