Built in 1897 by the same architect who designed the Boston Public Library and many gracious Back Bay town houses, the Buckminster is a convergence of Old Boston charm and affordable elegance. And if you're not into architecture, you might appreciate the location just a few steps from Fenway Park.

The Buckminster offers nearly 100 affordable rooms of varying shapes and sizes. Economy rooms are small and stuffy, with slightly worn furniture (but still a great bargain). By contrast, the European-style suites are quite roomy, with all the tools and toys of comfort and convenience. Each floor has its own laundry and kitchen facilities. Service is accommodating, if not over-eager. But what really makes the Buckminster special is its location in the midst of Kenmore Square - just opposite the Citgo Sign and around the corner from the baseball stadium. Some of the rooms even have views into Fenway Park. So if you're into baseball, get into the Buckminster.
