At last! For top-end service without the top-end price tag, look no further. This charming, cool and cosy hotel, right in the thick of the Connaught Place action is exactly what Delhi has needed for a long, long time.

Situated on the first floor of a colonnaded Connaught Place building, this new, well-conceived hotel is a joyful respite from the hubbub outside its front door. Reception desk staff are serene and attentive; rooms, though compact, are beautifully decorated with great mood-lighting and hot, swooshing power-showers, and the in-house restaurant, Zaffran, cooks up a nightly host of tandoori delights (though doesn't serve alcohol - you can ask to bring your own). It might not have the bells and whistles of bigger luxury hotels - there's no pool or garden, for example - but for attitude, location, and attention to detail (as well as for superior child-friendliness and banana pancakes for breakfast) it can't, for the price, be beat.
