Built according to strict ecological principles, the Orchid is surrounded by lush gardens and it's just a whisper away from the Domestic Airport. Despite the location, it's a serene place, and everything is modern and understated. There's a rooftop pool and restaurant with good views over the airport and city.

For once an eco-hotel whose green credentials hold up to scrutiny! Although it looks like yet another grand airport hotel, the Orchid was built using sustainable materials and the building was designed to require minimal heating, lighting and electricity. Which is not to say that you don't get every conceivable five star luxury for your money - rooms have been decorated with flair, and all have mood lighting and writing desks with built in Internet hubs. The shared spaces are just as welcoming - it's a real pleasure to slip into the reed slippers and cotton robe and kick back with a page-turner beside the rooftop pool. The Orchid is hidden away in a leafy garden, contributing to the atmosphere of calm and seclusion. Befitting a luxury airport hotel, there's a 24-hour coffee shop, a bar and nightclub and an impressive selection of restaurants.
