Set back from the action at the south end of Waterfield Rd, Metro Palace is a well-run hotel offering cosy, old-fashioned rooms with frilly curtains. It's a friendly place with a department store and cinema right across the road.

Being away from the main concentration of shopping centres and boutiques on Linking Rd, the Metro Palace is quieter than many Bandra hotels. It's a little old-fashioned but rooms are compact and cosy, with TVs, air-con and ruffled silk curtains. There's a coffee shop and Indian-style pub on-site and many of Bandra's top bars and restaurants are a short walk along Waterfield Rd. If you've come here for the shopping, there's a department store across the road, or it's just five minutes by cab to the main shopping strip. For something a bit different, explore the Koli fishing village at the end of Hill Rd (it's full of historic Portuguese-style churches). Rates are good for the facilities but some people will be put off by the 20% tax on room rates.
