Guitar-playing owner Mr Kim works hard to please his guests at this budget Myeong-dong guesthouse on the road to the Namsan cable car. In a quiet spot, it's just a few minutes' walk from the fashion-hungry crowds bustling around the magical merry-go-round of Myeong-dong.This newish backpacker guesthouse has a mixed bag of small rooms plus some larger Korean-style ones where a group could bunk down on the yo (floor mattresses). Pay Mr Kim only 5000.00 and you can hire a mobile phone and just pay for what you use. There are also free bicycles, as well as free breakfast and internet and a mini-kitchen and laundry. Avoid downstairs rooms near the can-be-noisy kitchen. The outdoor patio is relaxing in summer although you may have to share it with smokers - 'No smoking within 4m of an entrance' hasn't arrived in Seoul yet.
