Lonely Planet review

Smack in the middle of town, you can hop over to Siam Square's shopping spots. Wendy's is a cheery, good-value budget choice where you're greeted by a brightly coloured little coffee shop/reception which also provides internet, laundry and business services.Admittedly, considering the faded lino and the small, simply appointed rooms, this is essentially a guesthouse-quality place. So if it's cheapest sleeps you're after, other places will cost a little less; and if it's a proper hotel you want, this is not quite it. But friendly Wendy's has redeeming features that do step it up a notch. There's the cheery reception/cafe area where your complimentary American breakfast will be served. There's the fact that all rooms have air-con and hot showers; if you rise up the price scale you can add a fridge and TV. There's the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the freshness of a recent coat of paint. And finally, last but not least, there's the stellar location, right on the skytrain and a short walk from Siam Square. The clients - budget but not exactly backpacker - seem predominantly American and Japanese.
