You've got to love a place that plays a straight hand. It may not be the prettiest of places any more - it bears a kind of public-service functional air - but functional it is. Backpacker rooms are two share, with actual beds (no bunks). Located at the top of town, and with communal kitchen and lounge, the Rose is a bargain.
