A favourite hangout of the young backpacker crowd, this establishment has 26 bright blue bungalows (12 of them added in 2007) set around two banana-shaded garden courtyards. All have simple furnishings, mozzie nets and verandas.

The bungalows here have small stoops (if you're really mellow you can sit and watch the bananas ripen), terracotta floors, simple wood-frame beds and a lock box bolted to the floor (bring your own lock or buy one for 2.00). The bathrooms are equipped with Western-style toilets and cold-water showers. In the bar-restaurant you'll find a pool table, a corner with soft banquettes and an upstairs chill-out area. Prices for drinks such as the Blue Baboon, Chocolate Chimp and Monkey Brain are posted on a chalkboard. This is an excellent place to meet other backpackers and exchange information on things to see and do. Everyone gets a free beer when they check in.
