This quiet wooden house, just up the slope from Victory Beach ('three minutes down, 10 minutes up'), is run by a friendly Swedish-Thai couple. The seven rooms have bright, all-tile bathrooms and king-size beds.

Away from Victory Hill's noisy, somewhat sleazy main strip, the Blue Frog has the feel of a traditional Khmer house, with lots of wood and plenty of open space protected from the sun and the rain. Everything here is small-scale and friendly, making it a great place to relax with a book. The upstairs rooms - some facing the sea, others a grassy grove of trees - have wooden walls and broad-plank hardwood floors, while those downstairs come with cement walls and tile floors. The restaurant serves Swedish and Thai specialities. In-house internet access is planned.
