The original backpacker hostel in town, Earthwalkers just got better thanks to its signature 'footprint' swimming pool. Dorm accommodation includes breakfast, and private rooms come with fan or air-con to suit all budgets. Free pick-up comes with the price. It's run by a gang of young Norwegians and usually attracts a fun-loving crowd. The downstairs bar, restaurant and communal area are the perfect places to sink into a rattan satellite chair and exchange travel tales. You can also take advantage of the wi-fi, admire the fine photos of Angkor (all for sale, with profits going to disadvantaged children), or network with volunteers. The long-promised swimming pool is a great space to cool off, plus there are plenty of hammocks and loungers just to chill out.The rooms are in a modern, European-style building with terracotta-tiled floors inside and on the surrounding balcony. There's no TV or fridge, but rooms are spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable. Dorms have four beds and their own bathroom. The only drawback is that it's a little out of town, but transport is easy enough to find.
