With just 14 rooms, this stylish little boutique hotel gives a warm welcome. It's in a central residential street that's handy for the centre but far enough away not to be under siege by floods of other tourists.

This boutique beauty has stolen the hearts of many a visitor to Barcelona. Even smaller singles are made to feel special with broad mirrors and strong colours (reds and yellows, with black furniture). Design touches abound, and little details like flowers in the bathroom add charm. Suites and studios are further options if you want to spread out a little. Satellite TV and free internet are touches for those who need to stay in contact with the wider world. One down side can be noise from other rooms, as the walls are not as stout as they might be.
