This well-located tower block sleepover offers standard business hotel rooms but comes with unexpected extras like a popular on-site spa and a subterranean comedy club, both of which appeal to locals as well as guests. Take an upper-floor room so you can look down on the city.

It's already located at the top of an incline, so an upper-floor room at the 30-storey Century-Plaza will give you some great views of the city backed by the mountains (make sure you ask for north-facing accommodations). Once you peel yourself away from the vistas, you'll find a comfortable, well-maintained business-hotel-style room that's not quite as cool as the chic recent renovations to the lobby and on-site resto-lounge would have you believe. No worries, though, since you'll hardly spend any time in your room: the downtown entertainment district is steps away and, if it's raining, the hotel houses its own restaurant, downstairs Yuk-Yuks comedy club and ultra-popular Absolute Spa facility - there's also an indoor pool if you need to stretch your legs. Free high-speed internet access is included.
