Set on a quiet street in charming Santa Teresa, this handsome two-story house has been converted into a simple familial guesthouse that remains one of the neighborhood's better-kept secrets. It's within a short walking distance to the bonde (tram) as well as the area's best restaurants and bars.

The rooms on the first floor feature wood floors, high ceilings, and have a light and airy feel. There's no air-con, and you'll have shared bathrooms and showers. Basement rooms have less light, but have air-con and private bathrooms. For the ambience we prefer upstairs; if you can't take the heat, you'll want a downstairs suite. The best part of this place, however, is the large private garden behind the house. Here you'll find an open-air kitchen available for guest use, lush vegetation and relaxing nooks for curling up with a book or dozing in a hammock. From time to time, tiny monkeys make their appearance in the trees (hint: they like bananas).
