Lonely Planet review

At last, Malasaña has its own boutique hotel - an oasis of style amidst the barrio's time-worn feel. Each room has its own design - drawn from the imagination of Luis Delgado - from retro chintz to Zen, baroque to pure white, and most aesthetics in between. You may love the gritty, rocking streets of the inner-city barrio of Malasaña, but that doesn't necessarily mean you want to sleep rough. The rooms here are stunning and we even love the small TV screen at each door with moving images of what lies within. Although every room is different, the unifying theme is designer chic without the five-star price tag. Some of the suites have Jacuzzis and large-screen home cinemas. Service is also good and their Beauty Bar provides a stylish venue for a streetside drink. You're close to Gran Vía, but away from the tourist scrum, and in the heart of a distinctive local barrio.
