Address: Praca restauradores 24 , Lisboa 1250187, Portugal Show on map
Formerly the grand Eden theatre, this slick aparthotel sports an Art Deco façade and stunning rooftop deck for bronzing and splashing. Studios are neat, compact and equipped with kitchenettes. With a location just off Rossio, the Eden is one of Lisbon's best deals.Sure it's part of a chain, but this central aparthotel still turns on the charm with its striking glass-and-concrete Art Deco façade, part of the original Eden theatre. The streamlined, ultra-clean studio apartments won't win design awards but they are functional, featuring fully equipped kitchenettes for making a snack or cuppa. The nicest have private balconies. Presumably the 'Eden' in the name is referring to the rooftop terrace which - would you Adam and Eve it - has a fab pool that floats above the city like froth on a cappuccino. Grab a cocktail from the bar, work on the tan and drink in some of the finest views of Lisbon. It's a hedonist's idea of sightseeing...

Step outside and you're on Rossio, one of Lisbon's grandest squares with its wave-like mosaic cobbles and dancing fountains. From the east flank, you have views up to Chiado, while from the west side you can glimpse Castelo de São Jorge. Be sure to see Rossio station, a neo-Manueline confection with horseshoe-shaped arches.
