Built in 1970, the brown-tinted modular glass facade of this hotel incongruously conceals an upmarket boutique establishment with an exclusive air, whose 80 sumptuously carpeted rooms are stuffed with plush heritage-style sofas, armchairs and artworks on rich wallpaper.

First Belgian member of a Spanish hotel chain, the hotel has heavily discounted rooms at weekends and during Brussels' summer slump when Eurocrats desert the city - hotel offerings, like name-brand bathroom products, are pared back in accordance with the lower rates. Summer aside, this place is popular with business people, with a host of major companies headquartered nearby. The standard rooms are fairly snug, though the executive rooms span much more floor space. All 80 rooms have the same blue and yellow colour scheme, including high thread count striped bedspreads; some of the black granite and faux marble bathrooms include bidets. Room service, provided by a local restaurant, is available on a limited basis: 12:00-14:00 and 19:00-22:00. The grand buffet breakfast costs extra.
