Lonely Planet review

Secluded from the street, but right in the city's heart, follow the rustic driveway from av des Fleurs to this dove-white, triple-decker freestanding pavilion set in fountained gardens.Built in 1905, graced by grand Grecian-style columns, and adorned with antiques, a wide marble staircase winds its way up through the pavilion's interior, leading to 13 guest rooms. The ultimate are rooms 12 to 14, which have private stone terraces overlooking the sprawling gardens, filled with fruit-bearing orange, lemon and mandarin trees. Subtly decorated in romantic hues such as rose and olive, the cheapest rooms have their own bath or shower, but share a toilet on the same floor. You can get unlimited access to wi-fi and there's also an online computer in the reception area. A real coup for the centre of town, private parking here is free; and staff are warm and welcoming.
