Lonely Planet review

This upmarket guesthouse is a favourite with fashion shoots and film crews, and it's easy to see why - its light and airy decor provides the perfect backdrop for beautiful people in beautiful clothes.Forget any notion that because it's beautiful and fashionable, it must be cold and unfriendly - the guestbook here is full of comments from former guests raving about the warm and friendly welcome they received. The overall look is very colonial - the low white house has fretwork balconies running around the outside, and a long veranda overhung with fragrant jasmine. The huge rooms create a rhapsody in white - white walls, white bedlinen, white curtains and draped white mosquito nets. Some rooms have muted cream, pink or green accents, but the overall look is pure white, creating a wonderful feeling of light, sun and space. Wicker chairs sit next to open fireplaces, with wood fires crackling merrily, and big church candles add to the romantic ambience. This is the sort of place that makes it very, very hard to be in a bad mood.
