Perched at the tip of Princes Wharf, this stylish luxury hotel is almost out to sea. And indeed, it's only fitting that in the 'City of Sails' its swankiest big-name hotel should resemble not so much a skyscraper as a large ocean-going liner.

Once you enter the hotel you'll be made aware that this place was kitted out to reflect whatever was current at the time - lots of chilly white spaces, solids blocks of wooden panelling and carpets that soak up every sound. One interesting touch is the 'wall of water' feature in the lobby - it wouldn't be out of place in a contemporary art space. Service is courteous and helpful without being in the least stuffy, and amenities like the well-stocked gym and a pool are available to all guests. Rooms are smartly configured, with fantastic bathrooms, and every single one of them has a balcony (the rooms that is). If you really want to bring the outside in, you'll want an aptly named 'Bow Suite'. Remember - the higher the floor the bigger the room. Excellent eating and drinking options ensure you won't need to leave the premises if you don't want to.
