Aside from the historic lobby walls (the stone you'll see was part of a 17th-century Jesuit structure) and the hotel's location (it's two blocks from the central plaza), Hotel Felipe II is pretty run-of-the-mill. It's a straightforward, business hotel.

The main reason you'd stay here is to take advantage of the hotel's central location. The lobby is attractive, with plenty of little tables and a small attached cafe, but there's something slightly claustrophobic about the place. Still, the cafe is a good spot for a card game before bed. The rooms are compact, though the bathrooms are ample, and the TVs are big. Dial telephones sit on the nightstands, giving the rooms a sort of 1970s feel. The cheaper rooms are tucked into the back of the hotel and have ceiling fans, blue pastel walls and old, satiny bedspreads. Very typical of Córdoba's mid-range hotels, the Felipe II offers comfortable, unembellished service to visiting business folks. If you're happy with a firm bed, a sharp little lobby and a great location, you'll be perfectly fine here.
