Economy business class doubles tend to be pretty abominable in Vilnius. This 168-room property on the north bank of the Neris bucks the trend by offering squeaky-clean, dirt-cheap rooms with smart and simple furnishings, bathrooms with heated towel rails and free Internet access on a computer in the lobby.

Wheelchair-accessible and allergy-free rooms are available, while tall people can take advantage of the two-metre-long beds in some rooms. We adore the above-par service, thick doors with card locks, tall mirrors, weekend discounts and free parking. We abhor the forlorn pillows (which are screaming for the services of an expert fluffer), uncarpeted hallways, tiny TVs and the somewhat claustrophobic narrow layout of the rooms. Still, it's a solid contender in its weight class. Don't be turned off by its location north of the Neris. It's just a 15-minute walk over the Green Bridge to the heart of New Town on Gedimino prospektas.
