In the same family since the 1930s but stunningly renovated by interior style masters David Collins (who designed Madonna's digs) and Simon Rawlings, this glam hotel, with an adjoining bar, restaurant and nightclub, has a range of cutting-edge sleep options.

Ten of the hotel's 30 rooms are situated in the main house, and emanate minimalist cool, with textured wallpaper, solid herringbone parquet floors, king-size leather-upholstered beds and mosaic tiled bathrooms with multi-jet showers screened by retractable perspex panels. But if you think the showers here are schmick, check out the space age ones in the four rooms above the bar, which have no less than 16 individual jets and computerised temperature controls as well as a double bench seat, in-shower lighting and an in-shower radio to drown out your singing. Out the back, 16 rooms with white bevel-tiled bathrooms are spread across a collection of funky townhouses. A real deal Irish breakfast and lock-up parking are included, and broadband Internet points are available free for guests in quiet corners of the bar and restaurant.
