Lonely Planet review

The Pruton Prudential is a reliable mid-range choice with a few quirky touches, enough of them to keep you interested. The hotel is just off the Golden Mile, the southern part of Nathan Rd that is packed with shops and shoppers, and the rooms, although unremarkable, are pleasant and cosy. This place seems to have a thing for fairy lights - the reception area on the 2nd floor is swathed in them. The giant plastic fruit and vegetables dangling from the ceiling above the Red Chimneys buffet are also a tad eccentric. The Pruton has taken the consumer nature of Nathan Rd to heart by installing itself above a large shopping mall containing over 100 outlets. The staff are courteous and experienced at putting up with barrages of tourist questions, while the 60m-long rooftop pool is a relaxing diversion. If you're keen on a bit of a view, forego the economy rooms (located on the lower levels) and head upstairs.
