Hidden away behind sister hotel The Regent, Park Plaza is a popular and value-for-money four-star option right at the heart of town. It combines tastefully stylish surrounds with comfort and class, without going overboard.

The Regent next door may be a few leagues up in the tariff charts, but Park Plaza has a pleasantly sheltered aspect, tucked quietly away behind its ostentatious partner. If you don't want to stretch to five-star, guests swear by the relaxed mood and smooth finish. The lobby is sedate, but not subdued, arranged with seats in chocolate brown leather. Rooms are stylish and comfortable. It's a practical and good-value alternative to the gilt-edged and rather gaudy top-flight hotels around town.
