There's nothing stuffy at this bright and breezy well-priced modern hotel, from the open business centre in the lobby lounge to the unfussy, yet modern and fully-equipped rooms, all installed with in-room broadband. The non-central Pudong location is a bit inconvenient if you plan to be travelling around Puxi. The strong points at this contemporary hotel include the women-only floor and family-conscious service, with a kids' play area and activities, kiddies meals at the 2nd Deck cafe and a babysitting service. Other facilities include the Bali spa and a tourist information desk. Get a high floor for the views. Restaurants include a top-floor revolving restaurant with art exhibits, Olive's for Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, and a 'fusion Shanghainese' restaurant. Like virtually every other hotel in Shanghai, communication in English is occasionally an uphill struggle.
