The Leonard is a gorgeous traditional hotel offering charming accommodation just moments away from Oxford Street. Despite its conservative appearance there's none of the pomp and circumstance found in some of the old stalwarts, and the young staff here are friendly and attentive with a brilliant sense of humour.

Originally four townhouses and later a hospital, The Leonard opened its doors in 1996 and now offers 44 elegant bedrooms. Somehow, despite the various historical handovers, the original features of the buildings remain intact. Standard rooms are on the 5th floor and there's certainly the feeling that 'you get what you pay for' when the lift finishes at the 4th floor and you have to lug your bags up the final flight of stairs. That said, the rooms are lovely, the beds are extremely comfortable and there's inevitably someone on hand to help carry your suitcase. The suites, in particular the Grand Suites, exude glamour and grandeur and are larger than most London one-bedroom flats.
