The Bostonian proudly touts its roots as part of the Blackstone Block, which comprises the city's oldest streets. From the moment you enter the contrasting, contemporary lobby, to when you step out on your balcony overlooking the colorful bustle of Haymarket, you'll appreciate the singular position of this hotel.Despite its stately location, there is very little here that isn't state-of-the-art. You'll notice it right away, as the polished wood lobby glistens with understated elegance. A sophisticated and oh-so-stylish reading area is warmed by the flame of a gas fireplace, which would seduce any skeptic. You'll certainly notice it in the guest rooms, which are draped in soothing tones of charcoal grey and chocolate brown, accented with funky light fixtures and gas fireplaces. High-def TVs and Frette linens prove that this upgrade was about function as well as form. Besides the accommodations, there's a new restaurant, North 26, with a woody interior, an outdoor patio and plenty of seafood specials.
