A Holiday Inn until 2008, this conveniently located property has received a cheery, European-style makeover punctuated by black & white 1940s-era glamor shots of Hollywood stars. The hotel is in a prime location between the heart of Hollywood and the Hollywood Bowl and is just a stone's throw from the 101 (Hollywood Fwy).

The Hollywood Heights' sense of style (think hardwood furniture, flatscreen TVs, Swedish bath amenities, signage in what looks like the font from Terminator 2) is leavened by a sense of humor, such as peace symbols on the 'do not disturb' signs. Admittedly, that peace can be shattered by the street noise from busy Highland Ave below - for more quiet, though less interesting views, choose rooms overlooking the parking lot. Parking is not cheap at 20.00 per night, and the traffic can be snarly during rush hour, awards nights (Oscars, Emmys and such) and when there's a show at the Hollywood Bowl; travelling by the Metro subway Red Line (a few blocks away) will save money and aggravation.
