Before South Beach overloads you, head for this Eden where a tropical garden, ultra-hip bar, 1930s Spanish-Mediterranean villas, Art Deco bungalows and atmospheric hotel rooms await. The staff at the nonsmoking establishment will do everything they can to pamper you without breaking the bank.

Renovations brought modern comforts to these spacious villas with vaulted, wood-planked ceilings and fireplaces. Luxurious textures blend with modern kitchen facilities, entertainment system and bathrooms with deliciously deep tubs. Deco-style bungalows are artfully outfitted and boast a separate bedroom, office and den. Valet parking, wireless internet access, fitness center and a complimentary wine reception apply to all guests, as does VIP treatment at the cool DeCarlos Bar. Well...maybe not to all guests: pets are welcome, but you know how they can be at a bar - before you know it you'll both be slurping beer from half-empty glasses, howling at anything resembling a full moon and mistaking barstools for fire hydrants. Not pretty. Split a bowl of martinis instead in the lush garden, where exotic birds, beautiful waterfalls and a hundred different kinds of plants are a pure pleasure.
