If you're seeking creature comforts in the airport locale this slick five-star hotel is unrivalled. Apart from its 256 stylish rooms, there's a fitness centre, bar and small batch of tempting restaurants including the renowned Great Kabab Factory.

Just 10 minutes from the airport, there's a definite transient vibe in the air - tourists are either smart and newly-arrived or tanned, weary and about to depart, and unlike the downtown five-star hotels, you won't really see Delhi's glamorous social set milling around. Standard rooms at the Radisson, though smallish, are kitted out with all the comforts to be expected: the beds have soft mattresses with tightly tucked-in crisp white sheets (something that splurging budget and midrange travellers will especially relish), the furnishings are urbane, and you get 'extras' such as a free daily bottle of mineral water and complimentary airport transfers. The hotel's I-Ching restaurant serves up a mean dim sum, while the outdoor pool area has ranks of relaxing reclining chairs, making it a cosseting place to kill time over a toasted sandwich and vanilla milkshake.
