Le Royal Meridien offers a lot of hotel in a little space. Set around an operatic, chandelier-filled central lounge are classically decorated rooms matched with suitably attentive service.
This is an elegant choice from the cluster of luxury hotels that grace Sahar Airport Rd near Mumbai's busy international airport. Many business travellers come here as it is smaller and more welcoming than the huge and rather cold-feeling Hyatt next door. Sure, it's away from the centre, but if you can afford to stay here, you won't balk at the price of an air-con taxi to any part of Mumbai that takes your fancy. In this price range, you expect luxury, so take advantage of the deep free-standing bathtubs, steam room, rooftop pool and wi-fi Internet. There are several upmarket restaurants and bars, but it's only a hop and a skip to the nearby ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton which has three of the best restaurants in Mumbai.
