You could get lost in the maze of rooms spread over the five 'blocks' of Gorbandh Palace. There's a mildly majestic feeling here that comes with the lobby's fountain, the lure of the bar and plentiful lounge chairs around a live-it-up pool.

At this hotel built in 1992, the pizzazz is really in the setting. The grounds are attractive and expansive, and traditional sandstone friezes beautify the exterior. The rooms (64 of them, not including three suites), all quite similar, are comfortable but nothing to blog about. They are certainly accommodating, however, with a small desk, TV, telephone, minibar, air-con and tea and coffee makers. Amid ivory-coloured walls, the rooms may not boast any soulful relics, but the Rajasthani theme can be appreciated in the colourful camel-print bedspreads and simple art. Bathrooms are on the small side. Some rooms have a balcony, though they're not very loungey (no cushions or chairs). You can always head poolside (or bar side) for a good relaxation option.
