Lonely Planet review

Guests love this place thanks to its cool decor and a fun outlook. Rooms are painted in vivid colours and include cable TV. The modern villa is surrounded by a lush garden and there is a bar-restaurant downstairs. The location, a stroll from Bar St, makes it ideal for night owls. This pad has been designed with some thought, with all rooms having windows and a generous amount of communal space leading onto the balconies. But while the 38 rooms are tastefully fitted out considering the price (check out the wood-trim and Khmer patterned bed covers), the marketing blurb '4-Star Accommodation at 2-Star Rates' is probably overstating the case just a touch. All rooms have cable TV, hot water, secure and screened windows and a startlingly strong orange fragrance. Some of the more expensive rooms have a private balcony and twins come with a tub. Service is laid-back but efficient enough, and guests can take advantage of free internet. For all its comforts, though, perhaps its most notable feature is the bar-restaurant, which is a great place to meet other travellers and form a posse before heading into town for a big night.
