Address: 98 beijing road south , Kunming 650011, China
Housed in an unusual bathroom-tile-free tower with ethnic art over the main entrance, the Jinjiang certainly gets off to a good start. The sleek, minimalist lobby and English-speaking staff reinforce first impressions, though there's one major drawback that keeps this hotel from garnering a five-star review. That's right, no bowling alley. If you're not in the habit of packing bowling shoes (or a swim suit), the Jinjiang can be an incredible deal - rates are regularly slashed to unbelievable prices. Despite the train station locale, the hotel has a refreshing blue and white interior, and the comfortable rooms echo the 'minority art' motif (paintings featuring Yúnán's different ethnic groups) at the entrance. There is little difference between building A and building B, except that the former is more expensive and features slightly larger rooms. All rooms have individual climate control, mini-bar and a safe. Non-smoking rooms are also available.
