Yet another rarity in China - a hotel that for more than a decade has garnered (quite justifiably) kudos from travellers for its superlative service and upkeep. It's a city-state-sized complex with everything you need and you won't do much better in town. Its most praised restaurant (one of a few) may be the one serving the cuisine of Cháozhou (the coastal region in eastern Guangdong - lots of veggies in light but delicious sauces).
