One of few independents in the area, the Old Stone Inn sits on a rather forlorn block, but is still just minutes from the Falls. It combines the soothing texture and richness of a historic inn with the sophistication of a modern boutique hotel.

The Old Stone Inn is a treasure; from the moment you step inside its dark and elegant lobby, the heavy stone and rich woods transport you to a more tasteful Niagara Falls. Every room is slightly different, though all are richly appointed and have beautiful bathrooms. The gorgeous main dining room was once a library - the books remain, though delicious haute cuisine is its current raison d'etre - and the attached sunroom is equally special. One of the best places to chill out in all of town is the downstairs bar and lounge - its reminiscent of a hip London pub. There's also a modest pool and hot tub. Don't be too put off by the surrounding empty lots and crumbling sidewalks, the central tourism office is directly across the street, as is the Skylon Tower and it's only a short walk to the busy Fallsview area.
