The 70 rooms overlooking the Rogers Centre (previously Skydome) stadium floor are probably the most popular rooms in Toronto during a sports match, rock concert or car show. If you choose one of the non-stadium-view rooms, you can always watch events from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the bar or restaurant. All rooms are decorated with simple artwork, subtle colors and marble bathrooms. The special stadium-view rooms have been cleverly equipped with heavy curtains to block out the field's glaring floodlights. An enormous indoor pool adds credence to this hotel's claim to have the largest hotel fitness club in the city. Partially covered walkways connect this upmarket chain hotel with Union Station, and the CN Tower is right next door. One problem here: the hotel tends to have 3.5-star quality and service with 5-star prices. Valet parking is 25.00 per day and pets are allowed, but at a premium of 50.00 per stay.

King St at John St is a short walk north - an area flooded with restaurants, the best of which is probably N'Awlins. Here you can munch on catfish or gumbo to the sound of live jazz performances (Tue-Sat evenings).
