This concrete tower block hotel is a short hop from the downtown core but its comfortable, even spacious, rooms are worth it. Try for a view room so you can look out at the North Shore mountains from your private balcony.
With some great views of the downtown cityscape and the looming North Shore mountains, rooms at the tower-block Plaza 500 have received a recent makeover, delivering a more contemporary esthetic - think loungy business hotel look. Most are fairly spacious and many have balconies (but unless you're facing north, this won't amount to much). Wired internet access is also available in all rooms. Since you're not exactly walking distance to downtown - the nearby Canada Line station will whisk you there in a few minutes though - check out FigMint, the hotel's Euro-cool resto-bar, which serves some excellent regional BC beers. Rates include passes to the gym across the street and there's a business center if you can't stay away from work during your stay.
