Although adhering strictly to BA minimalism, NH City remains supremely comfortable, thanks to the rooms' deep-umber and earth-tone walls, plush chairs, fabric headboards, and mustard-and-maroon striped curtains and bedspreads. The rooftop pool and deck, and a gourmet buffet breakfast cinch the knot.

When it comes to Buenos Aires' luxury hotels, it's tough to beat NH City in terms of value. Sure you can cough up some more coin and stay in Puerto Madero, but you're not going to be that much more comfortable. And NH City's location less than a block south of Plaza de Mayo is superb. You're just north of San Telmo and only a block from three subway termini, which makes getting to Palermo and other neighbourhoods a snap. The lobby is spacious, and its subtle design and artistic touches work perfectly; stained-glass ceilings and classical pillars contrast handsomely with the minimalist design. Admittedly, it's a bid odd hearing the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Madonna in the lobby, but hey, why not? The rooms all are decorated with framed art prints and smart crown moulding, and the beds are a dream.
