Lonely Planet review

Set on a quiet street a few blocks from Copacabana beach, this simple 13-story hotel is far from palatial. You won't find much luxury here, but you will find small, tidy rooms at fairly decent prices.

Although the quarters are a bit cramped, they're clean and comfortable enough for a short stay in Rio. Tile (of the faux wood variety) covers the clean-swept floors, and the rooms all get decent light. Aside from the striped pastel curtains, the modest bed, the TV mounted on the wall and the small refrigerator in the corner, there's not a whole lot of extras here. The bathrooms, however, all have tubs with hydromassage - a surprising touch at this price. There is also a small pool up top, though it lies in shadows for much of the day.
