This hotel offers style and service beyond its modest three-star category. Adding to the charm is the wine theme running throughout - rooms are decorated with an attractive grape motif and each room is named for a Spanish wine region.
If you're a wine lover, you'll love this place. Each floor is dedicated to the different regions of Spain and each room is dedicated to a different type of grape, which points to an individuality and attention to detail that is rare in the midrange category. There are also free booklets explaining Spain's different wine regions. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated - parquetry floors, light tones, a place to sit, a place to write. The double-glazed windows are also important, especially if you're here on a typically noisy Madrid weekend. Some of the junior suites are outstanding, with split-level living, hydromassage baths and DVD players in every room. There's also free internet access downstairs (also in the pleasant sitting room). Perhaps what stands out above all, however, is the warmth and friendliness of the staff - this is one of the most welcoming hotels in Madrid.
