The 22-room 'At the Golden Tree', only a few short steps from Charles Bridge, has a pleasingly historical atmosphere with period features and many timber-ceilinged rooms. But unless you're in a party mood try to get a room on the upper floors - the hotel also has a basement disco that rages 'til 06:00 .You'll be right in the thick of tourist town here, with all its crowds, noise, buskers, souvenir shops and countless other distractions, so if that's your scene, then the Golden Tree might be the place for you. The building dates back to the 13th-century, and has been completely renovated to accommodate a four-star hotel, nightclub, 24hr restaurant and coffee bar. Suites are large and furnished in a bright, contemporary style, and the 'regular' rooms are smart, functional and fitted with the usual facilities such as minibars and satellite TVs. However, you're really paying for the central location and amenities here. Reception is up a narrow flight of stairs from ground level, and there's no lift.
