Lonely Planet review
Occupying the architecturally significant 4 Vakif Han, this recently opened five-star hotel conversion is a mass of contradictions. The 'Kulliye' rooms are massive and wonderfully full of light, whereas the 'Atrium' rooms are relatively small and dark - bizarrely, there's no difference in price. We like the pool, hamam and fitness centre in the basement, though, and find the location next to the Spice Bazaar excellent.The architects have done an absolutely wonderful job renovating the grand foyer, but have totally missed the opportunity to capitalise on what could have been a fabulous top-floor terrace, instead offering a bland and unwelcoming function room-cum-buffet restaurant area.
