A relative youngster on the Ringstrasse, the Radisson lacks the legendary status of many of its contemporaries lining the famous street, but what it lacks in history it makes up for in style and grace.

You can't expect a hotel on the Ringstrasse to be totally bereft of history however, and the Radisson is no exception. This 20-year-old hotel is the combination of two former fin de siƩcle palaces, Palais Leitenberger and Palais Henckel von Donnersmarck, both of which have been immaculately restored and fitted with all the modern amenities of a five-star establishment. Rooms come in a variety of styles and colours - entire wings are decorated in vibrant floral patterns of green, red and yellow, while others are more reserved, with dark woods and light browns tones. All are clothed with understated furnishings and period pieces, and the best face the green of Stadtpark. The reception is lit by a high glass skylight and manned by staff who know how to take care of guests' needs with the utmost professionalism.
