Close to Stazione Centrale, this three-star offers clean, comfortable lodgings. It's certainly not the most exciting Milan property if you're here to see the sights, but it's a decent choice if you're just staying overnight.

The neighbourhoods around major train stations in Italy (and indeed most capital cities in the Western world) are always a not-so-lovely mix of sad and scary, so suffice it to say that the Stazione Centrale area is not Milan's best asset. But if you're just stopping over for the night before an onward train, this is your best three-star bet in an area that has quite a few dodgy hotels. While the hotel furnishings are a little tired, the place is very clean and reasonably well run, if not the friendliest hotel in town. Rooms are a reasonable size, decorated in a nondescript fashion, and despite the double- glazing, those facing the street can be a little noisy. Breakfast is quite good and there's a small bar as well.
